Chester sat down next to his boyfriend, still holding onto his hand.

"Jayden. He's not welcome in here at the moment." The tone in Caden's voice made Jayden sure that his boyfriend probably never would be. "We're discussing private matters.
"He's my boyfriend, Caden. What's so private that I can't tell him about it?" -
Chester leaned his head on Jayden's shoulder, trying to show he wasn't a threat. He didn't say anything.

Jayden held him close. "He's staying. That's final."
"No, it isn't." Caden sighed. "Can we talk about this? Without an audience?" -
Chester looked between them as they spoke. 'Can I, er, say something?'

Jayd heard him. "Of course." He nodded.

Chester fiddled with his hands. 'I, er, I won't tell anyone what's discussed here, if that's what you're worried about. I'm sure I can provide some suggestions about your kingdom and stuff...'

Caden stared at him like he was trying to gauge how true that sentence was before saying back in a voice Jayden couldn't tell if it was sarcastic, passive aggressive, or both. "I'm sure you won't. Next time we have a meeting, we'll put that into consideration. For now, Jayden, we're talking about this outside. Now."
Jayden sighed. There was no getting out of this one. -
Chester grabbed Jayden's hand, holding onto it tightly. 'What you can say in front of him, you can say in front of me.'

Caden was practically glaring daggers into Chester. "Choose your next words wisely unless you'd rather we deem your opinion unnecessary, and kick you out of these meetings permanently. One doesn't simply walk in here uninvited and start questioning our decisions!"
Jayden sighed, squeezing Chester hand. "I'll be fine." He whispered. -
Chester sighed, letting go of his hand. He looked down at the ground. 'Okay,' he mumbled.

Jayden kissed him on the top of the head. "I'll be back before you know I'm gone." He whispered before walking out of the room, Caden following him.

Chester sighed, fiddling with his hands. He watched Jayden leave.

"Are you stupid?!" Caden snapped. "You can't just bring in a king into our meetings! He could find out our strategies, find new holes in our plans before they even spring into action and use it to his advantage, he coul-"
"You really think he's thinking about all those things?" Jayden asked in disgust. "He's my boyfriend, he's Chester. He wouldn't do that, ever. Besides, what if he finds the wholes in our plans and corrects them?"
"Either way, he can't be in this meeting! How are we supposed to talk about our plans for the little contract we made when he's in the room?!"
"He already signed it! He can't take it back now, if that's what you're so worried about!" -
Chester heard them yelling and hugged his knees to his chest.
