Chester nodded, clenching his jaw as he looked away. ‘Okay,’ he mumbled.

Jayden noticed him clench his jaw. "What's wrong?" He asked quietly.

'I just...' Chester mumbled, eyes welling with tears. He buried his face back in the crook of Jayden's neck. 'Nevermind.'

Jayden frowned. "You can tell me anything Chester. I promise. Please, just tell me what's wrong?" He worried he did something to make him upset.

Chester whimpered. 'It doesn't matter.'

"You're worrying me, love." Jayd kissed the top of his head.

Chester sighed, not replying.

Jayd sighed. "Why won't you tell me?" He asked quietly. "Did I do something wrong?" He didn't realize he was potentially guilt tripping him until the words left his mouth. He wanted to take them back, but he couldn't now.

Chester sighed and shook his head, eyes welling up.

Jayden sighed, cupping Chester's chin in his hand, gently pulling it up. "Chester. You don't have to tell me if you don't want to, but at least promise me it's not something I ought to worry about, ok? Because I'm worrying, and I don't know why you won't tell me, which is scaring me more than you can imagine."

Chester sighed, closing his eyes. 'I-I'm sorry. But... I-I'm scared.'
(alr I'll be off and on) -
Jayd frowned. He grabbed Chester's hand with the hand not holding his chin, and rubbed the back of his hand with his thumb. "Scared of what?"
