"I'm so sorry about your grandparents." Jayden murmured. "Do they... Do they do that often?"

Chester didn’t answer. He buried his face in Jayden’s chest, eyes closing.

Jayden didn't want to assume, but Chester's reaction certainly wasn't good. He sighed, kissing the top of his head.

Chester sighed deeply, fiddling with the back of Jayden’s shirt. ‘They have,’ he mumbled, hoping he wouldn’t hear.

Jayden did hear. He frowned. "What did they do?" He said quietly. "Did they... Would they hit you?"

Chester shifted his position so his face was buried into the crook of his neck, and he was more in front of him than to his side. He waited a moment before responding. ‘Only when my parents weren’t around,’ he mumbled. ‘They don’t come to my castle often anymore.’

"Oh, Chester." Jayden said softly, holding his boyfriend closer. "I'm so, so sorry."

Chester closed his eyes, trying not to start crying again. He sniffed and wrapped his arms around Jayden’s neck.

Jayd just held him. If he ever saw those messed-up grandparents again, he was going to give them a piece of his mind.

Chester eventually sighed and pulled his head back so he could look at Jayden. ‘I’m sorry,’ he mumbled, wiping his eyes.

"For what? You did nothing wrong." Jayden wiped some tears that Chester missed.

Chester leaned into his touch, closing his eyes. ‘That they came.’

"That's not your fault." Jayd said quietly. "I'm not blaming you."

Chester sighed. ‘I’m still sorry. It shouldn’t have happened.’

"But it's their own fault, not yours." Jayden murmured, kissing his cheek. "Don't blame yourself for everything, Chester."
(Aaaand I'm going to go now, hopefully I'll be back in 3 ish hours but no promises)
