“You shut your mouth.” Astrid snapped.

Chester shut up, but had a hint of smugness in his expression. ‘Alright.’

Jayden didn’t say anything, leaning into Chester.

Chester smiled wrapping an arm around him. Someone appeared behind him and wrapped her arms around his neck, burying her face in his shoulder.
Chester glanced up and smiled. ‘Maeve!’ -
Astrid noticed her appear-it was hard not to- and his eyebrows furrowed.
Jayden smiled. “Hey!” -
Chester stood up and hugged her. Maeve buried her face in his chest. Chester frowned a little.
‘Maeve, what’s wrong?’ he said softly craning his head to try and look at her. -
Maeve didn’t say anything for a while, holding him tightly. Jayden turned around to look at the two of them.

Chester noticed her crying. ‘Oh, Maeve,’ he said, holding her close. ‘Do you wanna tell me what’s wrong?’

Maeve shook her head slightly. Jayden frowned, looking up at Chester. He wanted to know how to help.

Chester sighed. He glanced at Jayden. ‘Could you tell the chef to bring in four plates instead of three?’ he asked.

Jayd nodded, standing up. He shot Astrid a look that meant: ‘don’t you dare cause any problems while I’m gone’ before leaving to inform the chef.

Chester pulled over a chair and sat Maeve down, still holding her. ‘You saw my letter?’
She nodded.
Chester sighed. ‘Are you ok?’ -
Jayden walked in the kitchen. “Hey, Prio?” He asked.
“Yes, sir?”
“Can you set out four plates?”
“Of course!” Jayden smiled and walked out after that. -
Maeve nodded, burying her face in her hands. ‘I-I’m so sorry,’ she said shakily. Chester ran his fingers through her hair.
‘Don’t be.’
Maeve shook her head. ‘I-I should’ve forgiven you earlier.’
Chester smiled softly, holding her. ‘I don’t blame you for not.’ -
Jayd walked to the table, sitting down next to Chester.
