Maeve disappeared for a moment, then came back with Oliver, who looked thoroughly traumatised.
‘Maeve! Don’t do that again!’ he exclaimed, looking at Maeve, then Chester and Jayden. ‘Ah, sires!’ He looked Chester up and down. ‘Don’t tell me you’re not taking your pills!’ -
Jayden chuckled. “You can tell that easily?”
“It’s a skill.” Oliver said with a confident shrug. -
Chester rolled his eyes. ‘In case you haven’t seen the paper, Oliver, the side effects for those pills would not be very good for me right now.’
Oliver scoffed. ‘Well, do you WANT to keep being half animal?’ -
Jayd leaned into Chester slightly. “Are there other pills he could take? Ones that don’t force him to tell the truth?”
Oliver shook his head. “Not that I know of.” -
Chester huffed. ‘I’m not taking the truth telling pills,’ he snapped, one wing curling around Jayden. ‘The animal thing has its perks, anyway. What happens if I wait a bit longer?’

Jayd looked up at his boyfriend. “Relax.” He said softly.
Oliver looked like he was trying to find a way to stop Chester from being so stubborn. “Well I don’t exactly know. It’s very rare for this to happen at all!” -
Chester sighed, pulling himself closer to his emotional support Jayden. ‘Well, do you at least have an idea?’

Jayd leaned into him.
“Well, my guess is that it’ll get worse. A lot worse.” Oliver said in a tone like he was thinking very hard about it. “Depends on how long you wait, I suppose, but it’s much better to take it sooner rather than later.” -
Chester sighed. ‘And there are absolutely no alternatives?’

Oliver sighed. “I can try and find some other medications, but I seriously doubt it.”

Chester looked away. ‘Fine. I’ll take the goddamn pills, okay?’
Oliver smiled. ‘Thank you. Maeve, can you do that teleporty thing-‘ The two disappeared, then returned a moment later.
‘Take these, too,’ Oliver said, handing a bottle of pills to Chester. ‘It’ll help with the anxiety.’ -
Jayden chuckled. “I’ll make sure he takes them.” He promised.

Chester took the pills. ‘What side effects do these have, hm?’
Oliver rolled his eyes. ‘They’re the same ones you used to take, Chester. I told you not to stop, but did you listen? Nooooo!’ -
Jayd kissed Chester’s cheek. “Just take them, ok?”

Chester sighed, the kiss on the cheek seeming to ground him a little. ‘Fine,’ he mumbled.
