Chester didn’t like that at all. He looked at Jayden, the fear evident in his expression.

Jayden noticed it. “Astrid, we’re taking. Alone.” He crossed his arms, stepping away from Chester.

Astrid shrugged and stood up. ‘Of course, little brother,’ he said, walking over to Jayden. He flashed Chester an evil smirk as he passed him. Chester whimpered and sat at the table.

Jayden pulled Astrid aside. “What are you going to do?”
Astrid chuckled. “Like I’d tell you. Let’s just say your little pet ought to be on his best behavior before he has to go.”
Jayd glared. “He’s not my pet, you freak.” -
Astrid glanced at Chester, then back at Jayden. ‘He’s an animal, Jayden. Literally and metaphorically. You’d best keep him in line, or I’ll do much worse than confiscate his emotional support watch,’ he said.

Jayden glared. “Fine. What else would you do?”

‘Like I said, I’m not telling you,’ Astrid said, smirking. ‘Honestly, the little brat should be put on a leash or something. He should know better than to speak to me that way.’ And with that, he turned around and walked back to his seat.

Jayden glared. He sat by Chester, sighing.

Chester looked at him, then at Astrid, nibbling on a piece of garlic bread anxiously.

“Do you want to sit somewhere else?” Jayden asked Chester quietly. Leo get away from Astrid?”

Chester glanced up at Astrid. He was afraid that if he said something wrong, Astrid wouldn’t give his watch back. He shrugged and looked down.

Jayd wrapped his around him before standing up. “Come on, we’re sitting somewhere else.”

Chester nodded and stood up, grabbing his plate of food.

Jayden grabbed his as well, moving to a different table.
“Bye cottontail.” Astrid waved. -
Chester whimpered and looked away, following Jayden.
