Jayden looked at Chester. He wanted to give Astrid the pocket watch to make it stop, but he didn’t know if that’d make Chester’s mood even worse.

Astrid just smirked. ‘Aw, is cottontail crying? Too bad your parents aren’t here to rock you like you’re a little baby. Their death wasn’t an accident, was it?’
Chester’s eyes widened. -
Astrid laughed. “What, you think I didn’t know? God, you were so obvious.”
Jayden grabbed Astrid’s hand to try and force him to let go. “Thats too far, even for you.” He snapped. -
Chester whimpered. ‘P-Please… don’t tell anyone…’

“And why shouldn’t I?” Astrid smirked. “Too much for the press to handle? Too scared to be placed in jail? Serves a murderer right, doesn’t it?”

Chester’s breathing quickened. He couldn’t be put in jail. He couldn’t do that to Jayden, or Maeve, or his kingdom. ‘If I give you the watch, will you keep it to yourself?’

Astrid shrugged. “Depends. Are you going to stop being a whiny little brat?”

Chester nodded, whimpering.

“Then sure. Give me the watch now.”

‘J-Jayden, give it to him please.’

Astrid glared at Jayden. “You no good little-“
“Oh, shut up.” Jayden tossed him the watch. “Let go of him.” -
Chester tried to squirm away again.

Astrid grabbed the watch with one hand, gripping it tightly. He held it up to Chester with a smirk before putting it in his pocket. He let go of Chester after.

Chester stumbled backwards, eyes following his pocket watch. ‘W-What are you going to do with it?’

“You’ll see.” Astrid said menacingly. The dinner came and he walked back to his seat.
