Jayden’s mom looked mildly surprised while his dad didn’t seem to care in the slightest. “Yes, thank you.” His mom said politely, but in a seemingly forced way.
“Didn’t realize Jayden picked such a… sensitive… partner.” Astrid continued. Jayd glared. -
Chester looked back at Astrid. ‘It’s not all about you, Astrid. I’m trying to have a conversation with your nice mother,’ he said.

Astrid looked absolutely infuriated, but kept his composure. “Of course, Jackson. Carry on.” He said with a painfully fake, sugar sweet tone.

Chester smiled, before turning back to Jayden’s mother. ‘I know we shouldn’t talk about battle at the table, but your strategy in the war with the South? Perfect! Must be where Jayden gets his brains from.’ He winked at Jayden, just to make sure he was saying the right things, and ruffled his hair.

Jayd blushed, smiling. “He’s one to talk, he’s much smarter than I am.” He admit-not like it was much of a secret anyways.

Chester grinned. ‘Nonsense. I could never think up such tactical brilliance,’ he said, looking back at Jayden’s mother.

Jayden’s mom couldn’t help but give a small smile. “Well, thank you. You’re very kind, Chester.” Jayd smiled, but couldn’t help but feel like the words felt somewhat fake, and forced.

Chester smiled and nodded once. ‘It’s just the truth, ma’am.’ Someone brought out their food. Chester could tell the words were forced, but at least she was making an effort…
But what was Jayden’s parents’ real opinion of him? -
“Thank you.” Jayden smiled, taking the food. He leaned into Chester slightly.

Chester let him, shuffling closer to him.

Jayd passed a plate of pancakes to Chester before getting his own, smiling.
(Gonna go for the day, bye!) -

Chester kissed the side of his head. -
Jayden blushed, looking up at his boyfriend with a smile before realizing Astrid was glaring at them. He didn’t pull away, but he stared at the floor for a moment.

Chester noticed Astrid glaring, but he didn’t care. He pulled his boyfriend closer and started eating.

Jayd smiled, taking a bite as well.
