Maeve shrugged. Jayd didn't answer immediately. "I am now." he said after a moment.

Chester frowned. ‘What happened?’ he asked, wondering if he’d accidentally upset Jayden. He hoped he hadn’t.

"Nothing. Just talked about some stuff." Jayden kissed his cheek.

‘Like?’ Chester asked, holding him close.

"My older brother." Jayd said quietly.

‘What about him?’

Jayden didn't answer for a moment, he just held Chester slightly tighter.

Chester sighed. He looked at Maeve, but she shrugged. Chester wrapped his arms further around him. ‘It’s OK. Do you want to go to my room?’

Jayd thought before nodding. "Sure."

Chester grabbed his hand and started walking to his room. ‘Was Maeve bugging you?’

"No, she was fine." Jayden shrugged. "I just... Don't like talking about him."

Chester wanted to ask about Jayden’s brother, but he’d just said he didn’t want to like talking about it. He asked a stupid question. ‘Wanna talk about it?’

Jayd looked up at him with a tiny chuckle. "Not really." He shook his head, grabbing Chester's hand.

Chester smiled softly, intertwining their fingers. ‘Alright. So long as I did nothing wrong. And you’re absolutely sure you’re fine.’

"You did nothing wrong." Jayden gave a small smile back. "You sure you're ok, after that whole thing at lunch?"
