‘Jayden,’ Maeve said softly. ‘Do you wanna talk about it? I could probably get Chester back in here if you don’t want to talk about it with me. It won’t be hard for me to scream loud enough.’

Jayd thought about that for a moment before shaking his head. "I don't really want to talk about it too much, if that's ok."

Maeve nodded. ‘Alright. I mean, you’re the adult, I can’t really tell you what you can and can’t do,’ she said.

Jayden nodded with a barely audible chuckle. "True."

Maeve frowned. ‘I could still scream at Chester to come over here to cheer you up.’

"If he's not upset himself." Jayd shrugged. "Sure."

‘CHESTER, JAYDEN’S BEING ATTACKED BY A BEAR!’ Maeve shouted.

Jayd laughed. "He's not going to believe THAT!"

‘CHESTERRRR, JAYDEN’S FEELING REALLY DEPREEEEESSED!’

"You're going to worry the whole castle!" Jayden rolled his eyes.

Chester’s head popped in. ‘I heard the words Jayden and depressed, what’s going on?’

"Good job Maeve." Jayd chuckled.

Chester blinked. ‘Did I miss something?’

Jayden shrugged before standing up and giving Chester a hug. He didn't want to explain everything to him at the moment.

Chester was a little taken aback. But he smiled softly and hugged him back. ‘Everything alright?’ he asked, glancing at Maeve.
