"he was sweet, the problem is he's a vampire. I scraped my arm on the wall while I slept so he had to lock me in his coffin. It sucked." Frederick said. Another drop of his blood fell onto Mildred
-
'It would,' Mildred said, then felt the drop on the tip of her nose. She wiped the blood away and winced. 'How bad is that wound of yours?'
-
"it's fresh, and a fairly large gash. Since I'm not a peasant my injuries take longer to heal and my delicate skin tears easier." Frederick said, boosting his own ego.
-
'Serves you right,' Mildred mumbled under her breath. She wasn't feeling so sorry for him now. 'Well, I was going to help you, as peasants get cuts so often, but it seems you've got it handled. See you.' She began walking towards the doors.
-
"I wouldn't leave with that blood in your hair. Jack could smell it immediately." Frederick said. A cracking sound was heard from the rafters.
-
'I'll go wash it out, then, before he wakes up,' Mildred said. She was close enough to the doors to see Jack sleeping nearby.
-
"he'll wake up as you pass." Frederick said. A silk handkerchief fell from the ceiling. "You can use that if you want. Just don't soil it too much, and don't let jack see it. It's a bavlenca silk handkerchief." He said
-
'I honestly couldn't care less if it's a Bavlenca silk handkerchief,' Mildred said bluntly, giving up on trying to be nice. 'And what do you mean, "don't soil it too much"?'
-
"jack will care that it's bavlenca silk and he'll label you a traitor. As for what I mean, don't use it to wipe your face just use it for the blood since I am to blame for that." Frederick said.
-
'Right, cause I'm a dirty peasant,' Mildred said, irritation lacing her voice. She felt for the wet pat of her hair and tried to wipe the blood out. The handkerchief came back blood-stained.
-
"any dirt mixed with sweat will stain it! I just don't want it more stained. It's mainly for decoration in the first place. Forgive me if I don't want to be a murderer next time I'll let you leave with blood in your hair." Frederick said clearly annoyed
-
'There won't be a next time if you be careful, and dear God I hope you will,' Mildred huffed. 'How'd you scratch yourself on a nail? I haven't seen any sticking out here.'
-
"these ceilings aren't exactly made carefully. Especially for a race that could fly if they wanted to." Frederick said.
-
'Right. How'd you even get up there?' Mildred asked, trying to feel in her hair for any more blood.
-
"I have my ways. It's a family secret." Frederick said. Meanwhile jack had started to wake up when he was hit with powerful sleep paralysis and hallucinations.
