Theo went through the door, and nearly got tackled by one of Hazel's cousin.

'Hunter!' Hazel exclaimed, watching the little boy bump into Theo. 'Be careful!'

"Sorry!" The boy yelled, running down the stairs. Theo chuckled, walking down the stairs.

'Are you alright?' Hazel laughed, watching her cousin run off.

"I'm fine. He didn't run me over or anything." Theo said, grinning.

'Alright,' she said, and they got to the bottom of the stairs. Hazel grabbed two ham and cheese bread rolls from the fridge and gave one to Theo for breakfast.

"Thanks." Theo said, taking a bite out of it.

'We're going to school now!' Hazel shouted, grabbing her backpack and slinging it on her shoulder.
'Bye Hazel!' a few kids called.
Her stepmother's head poked out from the kitchen. 'Hazel, I was hoping I could talk to y-'
'Bye!' Hazel called, and once Theo and her were outside she shut the door. -
"What was that about?" Theo asked, talking about Hazel's stepmom wanting to talk to her.

'What was what about?' Hazel asked, taking a bite out of her bread roll.

"Your mom wanting to talk to you."

'She did? Oh, I didn't hear her,' Hazel-Lee said, though it was not the case. She started walking on the sidewalk.

Theo followed, not saying anything as they walked.

'Enjoying it here so far?'

"Oh absolutely." Theo said, grinning. "The place is great, and I've got a great friend to show me it."
