"So many. I think it's as big as my extended family." Theo said before taking another bite of their food.

'Well, there are three of my cousins here. They come every Summer,' Hazel-Lee shrugged.

"Oh, cool!" Theo said. His cousins rarely ever stayed over, and when they did it was normally for only 1 or 2 days.

'Yeah,' Hazel-Lee said, then returned to her food.

Theo did as well, hearing bits and pieces of other people conversations, most of them about sports and TV shows.

Hazel finished her food about the same time everybody else did, and one by one kids began to leave the dinner table, whilst shouting a thank you to their stepmother.

Theo finished and cleaned his plate off in the sink.
"Thanks Mrs Jasper." He said, smiling. -
Hazel flashed a weak smile at her stepmother then walked upstairs.

Theo followed close behind Hazel.

Once they got to her bedroom, Hazel shut the door and sat down on her bed.

Theo sat down next to Hazel-Lee, a small smile on his face.

'So, um..'

"Your family's nice." Theo said, relieved that they were. He'd heard some wild stories from his friends that've come back from their foreign exchange thing.

'They are.'

Theo nodded, fiddling with their pencil.
