Collins looked behind her and screamed. She could see the creature clearer now, and it was most definitely a monster. She ran as fast as she could down the hall but got to a dead end and turned around, watching the thing fly towards her.
-
Florence closed in on the human. He held the heart in his hand, grimacing. "Don't.... Touch.... The heart..." He said in a raspy voice before wailing over the glass in his hand. The shards were still beyond his vision in most places
-
Collins backed into the wall, clasping her hands together to stop them shaking.
'I-I won't,' she said, trying not to stutter too much. Her legs felt weak and her knees shook. Her heart pounded in her head as she watching the creature cry out. To her, this was a sign of aggression. She didn't see it's bloody hands. 'Please don't hurt me,' she whispered. -
Florence cocked his head like a dog before turning around and trying to walk on all fours before the stabbing of glass made him stop. He made a sound similar to speaker feedback before going back to walking upright. He preferred having at least one set of arms down for support. He started holding up the heart with his fingernails
-
Collins just watched on in fear before her mind had the mild capacity to process this.
'Wait- You can talk?' she exclaimed, not sure if this statement was going to make the creature angry or not. Somehow, the fact this monster could speak humanized it in some way. Plus, it hadn't hurt her yet. -
"can't..... Everyone?" Florence said as he turned around and cocked his head. The human was curious. Curious could be good or it could be bad. He mimicked the highest note on a recorder before turning back around and walking. He set down his hands one more time before he started to chew them. Either he'd lose his hands or this pain would go away
-
'Animals can't,' Collins said, following after the thing. 'You don't seem like an animal, though. Or a human, for that matter...'
-
"I am.................. Florence." Florence said, hesitant. His creator never told him what he was just who he was. He assumed it was the same thing. The glass in it's hand moved as it chewed causing some of it to go deeper. Florence mimicked the screams he sometimes heard in the facility as the glass went further into his palms
-
Collins flinched as he started screaming. 'Are you OK?' she asked, voice slightly shaky.
-
"my hands.......... Something hurts..." Florence said as it tried to chew out the glass shards. A glob of silver blood fell onto the floor as his feet. Florence mimicked the sound of metal scraping
-
Collins stepped in front of him and held one of his hands in hers so that the palm was facing up. 'Are they bleeding?' Collins asked, mainly to herself as she tried to rubbed some of the silvery liquid away with the cuff of her sleeve.
-
Florence wailed and pulled himself back when Collins rubbed his hand. The glass was still in there despite his efforts to chew it out. "All hands........ Hurt." Florence said holding up his four hands. The glass glinted in some parts of his hands.
-
'Sorry,' Collins said quietly, assuming she'd hurt him whilst trying to clean the wound. 'I could help... if you want me to.'
She tried to remember how scary Florence was, how his red eyes looked at her and how he cornered her into a wall. But all she saw now was someone helpless in pain. -
Florence cocked his head and stepped towards Collins, holding out his hands. "Please.... Help." Florence said. He was begging for help. He didn't feel like he could function without his hands. He mimicked the sound of a low violin note.
-
A small smile played on Collins' lips as she took one of his hands and examined his closely. 'This might hurt a little...' she said, and carefully pulled out a piece of glass from one of his cuts. 'This isn't going to work,' she mumbled, and pulled out a pair of tweezers from her pockets. She often carried strange things when exploring, because you could never know what you'd need.
She started picking out a smaller piece, hoping it wouldn't hurt Florence too much.
