"Hey, no hissing!" Eli protested, picking Ralph up.

Ralph mewed innocently.

Eli laughed. "How's that scratch?" They asked, turning their attention to the scratch on Ralph's side.

'Not too bad.'

"Alright, that's good. Does it still hurt?"

'Not really.'

"Alright." Eli said, petting Ralph's side gently so they could assess the damage and see if it really hurt or not.

Ralph winced.

"It does hurt!" Eli said, pulling their hand away.

'Not too much!' Ralph insisted.

"Still, that's not good." Eli said. "And you winced, meaning it's got to hurt!"

Ralph mewed.

"Oh come on, speak English!" Eli chuckled.
