Callum laughed harder. 'Yes!' he said through his giggles.

"Do you know any other cool tricks besides freezing people?" Eli asked after they stopped laughing.

'Uhm, a few.'

"Like what?" Eli asked, now super curious. "Ooo, do you have a trick that makes people and cats nicer?"

'No,' Callum said. 'I can float. Not for very long though, or very high, because I never managed to master it before... they disappeared.'

Eli's smile quickly faded. "Oh. That's.... That's pretty cool. The floating power."

'Yeah,' Callum said, trying not to appear disheartened.

"I'm sorry about your parents." Eli said quietly. "Is there a way to get them back, or something like that?"

'I don't know, honestly,' Callum admitted. 'I haven't really tried, either.'

"It's worth a shot, right?" Eli asked, feeling a bit optimistic. "Plus, if we get lucky we could beat that shadow thing as well!"

'Maybe...' Callum said, though sounded more pessimistic than Eli.

"What's the worst that could happen?" Eli asked before actually thinking about what could go wrong. "Wait, don't answer that."

'We get caught too. Or worse, you get caught and I spend the rest of my life regretting it,' Callum said, answering anyway.

"I said don't answer! Besides, at least it'd be a fun way to go out. And I'd rather me die than you die anyways."

'And have me spend the rest of my life regretting your death as well as the death of my parents? Nuh-uh.'
