Eli grabbed a couple of the petals. "Now I have to restart." They said, trying to sound angry, but ultimately failing and chuckling.

Callum chuckled. 'We'd be there faster if you didn't.'

"Hey, life's about the journey, not the destination!" Eli countered, using one of their moms many quotes and signs in their house.

'Well,' Callum said, searching for a good counter. 'Uhm..'

"HA, you don't have an argument!"

'No, I really don't.'

"Which means I am no longer weird for taking a long time doing this!"

'I don't think that's how it works.'

"RUDE." Eli protested, and immediately after the petals fell off their face. "That's it, I give up!" They said, although they still grabbed the biggest one as a hat.

Callum laughed. 'Come on,' he said, grabbing their wrist and dragging them forward.

Eli followed, though tried yanking their hand away from Callum's grip once or twice.

Callum smirked. 'We're here,' he aid as they arrived at the alcove, but his face fell when he saw it. 'What..?'

"I don't think this is quite what you described to me." Eli said, but the joke fell flat.

Callum just stared at the spot that had used to be so lucky. 's---e...' he muttered. 'I thought it wouldn't come back...'

"What is it?" Eli asked nervously. The only thing he remembered Callum said negatively about this place was... Something taking his parents.... Something he created. "Is it the same thing that took them?"
