'Yeah,' Callum said, fiddling with his hands.

"Why did it take them?" Eli asked, figuring if there was a time to find out, it would be when the same creature that took them was right in front of them.

'I didn't think it would do this much damage...'

"Callum, answer the question. Please." Eli pressed, staring at the-the thing- in horror.

The thing was a dark mass, like air but black. It took his parents and was destorying his place. 'I didn't want it to.'

"I'd be shocked if you did want it to." Eli said dryly, but they decided stop pressing Callum on it, though still watched the shadow thingy in case it did anything.

The shadow floated around some more, before floating off.

Eli eyed Callum. "Didn't you say you made that thing? Last time I asked you about this?"
They didn't expect an answer for such a direct and personal question. -
'Yeah, I did...'

"How? And why?" Eli asked, and before Callum responded they put the petal-hat on Callum's head to try and lighten the mood.

Callum gave a weak smile. 'Well, I...'

Eli didn't say anything so it would either help Callum explain or show just how uncomfortable the question made him.

'I didn't like it here.'

Eli raised an eyebrow. "So you either created this thing to destroy this place or it just sort of manifested because you didn't like it here?"

'I created it out of anger,' Callum said. 'I... I wanted a friend, because my parents wouldn't let me out of here. I created more of a shadow, but everything here is different, and I wanted everything to be normal... So it's destroying everything...'
