Aaron took it gratefully. Kai walked to his hut and put the bread away. He'd estimate the rations later that night.

Amira leant against the bench with her eyes closed. The sun was shining bright in the sky, but too bright and the humid air wasn't making it any better.

Kai walked back outside and sat next to Amira on the bench, taking in the sights.

(after we've done a few more posts so you wanna skip to a couple of weeks later so like more ppl arrive to add more drama?)
There wasn't much to look at, a battered fence, and a field filled with dead grass. -
(Oh yeah that'd be cool)
Aaron was kicking a clump of dirt, spraying it everywhere. "Aaron, no kicking dirt. You could spray it all over someone." Kai chuckled. -
Amira gave a small smile- her eyes still closed- when she heard Kai talking to Aaron. It reminded her of her sister who used to roll around in the mud every time it rained.

"Well they can learn to go away!" Aaron kicked more dirt.
"Aaron, stop it." Kai chuckled. -
Amira opened her eyes to see clouds of dust flying everywhere. She laughed then glanced at Kai. "I wish my sister was here, they'd definitely get on"

Kai gave a small smile. "She'll be here soon, and they'll annoy the heck out of us."

Amira chuckled slightly. "I hope so"

"They will." Kai said confidently. "All of them."

Amira smiled but said nothing, she knew he was trying to make her feel better about it, more hopeful, and she hoped too that all of her family, and Kai's would return alive.

Kai didn't say anything else to Amira, he just sat and watched Aaron.

Amira leant back against the bench, following Kai's gaze to Aaron running around, kicking dirt and picking grass.

"How many times do I have to tell you to stop kicking the dirt!" Kai laughed at Aaron.
