'Surprisingly good,' Nat said.

"That's good." Nikolai said, grabbing Nats hand and holding it.

Nat smiled. 'Yours?'

"Really good. We got to do a lab."

'Cool!'

"I know!" Nik said happily. They both got to the lunch room, and Nikolai sat down on one of the tables.

Nat sat down next to him, pulling out her lunch.

Nik pulled out his as well. He had a lot more in his lunch than he did before moving, which was obviously great. He grabbed his sandwich and started eating it.

'How's your dad?' Nat said, having to think about each word carefully before saying it.

Nikolai shrugged. "He's fine. Still kinda distant, but definitely better than before."

'Good!' she said happily.

Nik nodded with a smile. "Yeah, super good. How's your foster family been?"

'Good,' Nat repeated, shrugging.

"That's good." Nikolai said, finishing his sandwich.
