They sat together for quite some time. Soon, Maya had fallen asleep, having spent majority of the night reading.

Sienna looked over at Maya's sleepy body before taking of her coat and wrapping it round her. She slowly moved away from her new friend and closed her eyes taking in the peacefulness of it all.

It was a shallow, dreamless sleep. She leaned back onto the rock, her breaths quiet and long.

Sienna watched her sleeping friend for a while before taking out the contents of her backpack. A few school books and a bottle of apple juice. Great. She'd forgotten to pack food.

BANG!
Maya jumped at the sudden noise, opening her eyes. 'What the hell was that?' she exclaimed, rubbing her eyes. She sat up on the rock, glancing at Sienna. -
Sienna looked confused. "You alright?" she asked.

Maya glanced around her. 'Did you hear that? It was sort of like an explosion,' she said.

"Not really-sorry!" Sienna smiled softly.

Maya leaned back against the rock. 'Maybe it was just my imagination,' she said, sighing.

"I don't think so..." Sienna screamed grabbing Maya and they both sprinted away from where they had been sitting as a whole gathering of trees fell too the ground.

When they finally stopped, Maya bent down, hands on knees, gasping for breath. 'What the hell!' she wheezed, then coughed. Damn my asthma, she thought.

"Are you okay?" Sienna asked though she looked worried.

'I'm good,' she whispered, coughing again. Her chest felt tight and she stood there for a moment, heaving air into her lungs. 'Yeah, I'm good,' she said, standing up straight. The tight feeling in her chest loosened. 'What the hell just happened?!'

Sienna sighed in relief seeing she was back too her normal self. "I don't know. But it's not normal. We should probably get out of here" she suggested.

She nodded in agreement. 'Yeah, let's go.'
