Quackity shifted his wings nervously, frowning. He didn't want to flake out on Sapnap but he was starting to get really nervous.
Lem frowned a little, nodding. "I-I'm not sure I can handle him having another one of his panic attacks though..."
"We can help with that, Lem. We're here for him, as well as you." Bad said quietly, watching Gold stretch a little before curling closer to Lem. -
“You alright?” Sapnap asked softly.
“Yeah, it’ll be alright,” Skeppy said with a nod. -
Quackity hesitated. He bit his lip nervously and shrugged. "Just nervous." He said quietly, becoming extremely self-conscious, tugging down on his beanie and flaring his wings out quickly before folding them tightly against his back.
"Okay. I just feel like maybe I'm taking too much time away from what you're trying to do to help him..." Lem mumbled, ears flattened against xeir head.
Bad shook his head. "Actually, a partner like you is the best thing he could have besides us. You listen, you understand, you care, as he does about you. He needs you as much as he needs us." -
“Why is that?” Sapnap asked gently.
“Yeah, you are a big help,” Skeppy nodded. -
Quackity shrugged again, frowning. "I just-I don't know if I'm ready to do this. I want to take care of my wings, but I just got so nervous suddenly. I- I don't even know why..." He sighed, shaking his head. "I trust you, I-" He froze up, remembering that he once said those same words to Schlatt. He zoned out, stuck in the memory.
Lem glanced down at Gold, shifting the now-sleeping hybrid over a little. "Okay. I can come back with you. I don't mind it if you don't."
Bad smiled. "Maybe we could convince him to sleep with you instead of with us. That might help him while you're staying with us." -
“Hey, hey, it’s alright, I understand,” Sapnap said. “We don’t have to do it if you don’t want to.” They got to the door of their room.
“That could be smart, actually,” Skeppy said. -
But if I keep freezing up like this, I'm never going to get anywhere. And I know you won't hurt me, I just --" QUackity sighed, turning to look at Sapnap. "I want to. It's just been a long time since I've had anyone want to help me with my wings."
Lem hummed softly, nodding. "I do miss seeing him like this. And waking up with him here. I can come back with you guys and maybe it would help regulate these attacks..."
Bad smiled. "It might. But nothing is going to change overnight. We tell him that all the time. He needs you to be able to talk it out with him and comfort him when he has a nightmare or panic attack as much as he needs us to be there." -
“It’s really fine if you don’t want to do it right now, though,” Sapnap said softly. “It’s up to you.”
“Yeah, it’s still gonna take time,” Skeppy said with a nod. -
Quackity felt a little at ease at Sapnap's soft tone. It wasn't sickly sweet like Schlatt's used to be at times. Instead, it was genuine. "We can do it now." He replied slowly, his eyes searching Sapnap's for any sign of aggression, and he found none.
"I'll come back with you guys." Lem said, xeir tail swishing side to side gently. "How did you guys get here? I don't really wanna make him get up..."
"Horses." Bad said. "We rode here." -
“Okay,” Sapnap said softly, nodding as they went into the room. “Let me just check on Karl-“ He whispered heading over to the bed.
“Yeah, you can take the on the rode probably,” Skeppy said. -
Karl was still asleep, curled up with the blanket pulled up to his chin.
Quackity smiled seeing Karl so at peace. He wondered, in reality, what he looked like asleep. Was he relaxed? Ever? Or was he always tense?
"Well, I don't know-- I'm not big on horses. I don't like them." Lem mumbled. "But I suppose for him I could ride one back to Manberg. So he'd stay asleep."
Bad frowned a little. "Well, he didn't sleep that much last night. His anxiety was really bad. He needs to rest." He shrugged. "It would only be to Manberg and you could take him straight home after." -
Sapnap smiles, resisting the urge to smother him with kisses and cuddle. Instead he turned to Quackity.
“Yeah, it’s not too far,” Skeppy said. -
Quackity smiled at Sapnap, spreading his wings and then folding them loosely against his back. "I- you ready?" He asked, not knowing quite what to say.
Lem sighed, nodding. "Alright. Want to leave now or wait a little?"
Bad glanced over at Skeppy. "I don't mind. Skeppy?" -
Sapnap nodded. “Are you?”
“We might aswell get going?” Skeppy suggested. -
Quackity nodded. "Yeah I am." He sighed, shaking his head a little. "Let's get this started." He said quietly, gently pushing the door to the bathroom open and walking in, waiting for Sapnap.
Lem nodded, slowly standing, cradling Gold in xeir arms. Gold stirred a little but stayed asleep.
Bad smiled and took Skeppy's hand, squeezing it gently.
