``Mhm,`` Vivian replied, opening up a Word doc for Oliver. ``Are you going to try and type it or are we doing the thing where I type it as you say what you want me to type?``
( lol, that was made unnecessarily long xD ) -
XD))
Oliver's brain short-circuited for a moment. "Uhh...the last one," he said. "I can't type without you know," he waved his hands around his face, "My eyes." -
"Got it," Vivian said with a chuckle, ready to type.
-
"It all started on a nice warm night in late summer," Oliver began, leaning against his chair in a comfortable position. "I was driving back home from a party, where I was, uh...nevermind."
-
Vivian typed, pausing when Oliver stopped. ``If you don't feel comfortable talking about it, I get it. It is a pretty touchy subject.``
-
"It's not that," Oliver said, shaking his head. "It's something different, something...personal. Can we continue?"
-
``Sure,`` Vivian said with a nod, ready to type whatever Oliver needed.
-
"So I was driving back from the party, where nothing of particular consequence occurred when I saw this red car speeding down the road, swerving and the like. The driver had a bottle in one hand, the other in the steering wheel. Before I had the presence of mind to drive away, he, uhm-"
Oliver took a deep breath, trying to calm his nerves. It was still fresh in his mind, the panic that had been running through him, the pain racking his whole body, the airbag exploding out and hitting his face before it all went dark.
"Hit me from the front," he managed. "The next thing I knew, I was in the hospital and I couldn't see a thing. They took the bandages off of my eyes and it was still nothing. Just a void nothingness." -
Vivian nodded, fully getting why Oliver would struggle to talk about it. It wasn't a great memory, especially considering it took away his eye sight. ``I get that,`` she said, hesitantly reaching her hand out across the table. Her hand hovered over Oliver's for a moment before she retracted it, resting it on the table. ``I get how painful it can be, remembering all that. And the fact you lost your eye sight. Must be really hard.``
-
Oliver heaved a heavy sigh, rubbing his temples to destress. It didn't help that I was dumped that night too, but that's hardly the point.
"Yeah, it was...it was bad," he said. "But it happened and there's nothing anyone can do but move on." -
Vivian nodded sympathetically. ``So uh, should I continue typing things for you?`` She asked, brushing her bangs out of her face.
-
"No, I think that's enough for now," Oliver decided, wincing slightly. "I'm having another one of my massive headaches."
-
"Got it," Vivian said with a nod, closing Oliver's laptop.
-
Oliver felt his way around the house and pulled a small bottle of pills out of a drawer, popping a few in his mouth and swallowing them dry.
"Doctors said that I-" he winced again. "Received damage to the skull. It wasn't something they could fix right away." -
Vivian nodded, watching Oliver for a moment. ``So uh, what do you normally like to do?`` She asked, standing up.
