Emerald smiled, enjoying the crisp morning air. She walked along through the forest in peace, enjoying the quiet nature before things became louder. Then she heard footsteps nearby. Who was that? No one comes here at this time of the morning. -

Nixie bent down to avoid being smacked by a branch, before stopping as she sensed someone nearby. She slowly looked around, moving closer to a tree to attempt to hide -
Emerald cautiously approached whoever was there with her knife in her hand. She was curious to see who it was. "Who are you?" She asked hesitantly.

She blinked and then looked down, spotting the human after a few second. "Oh hi! Im Nixie!" She said in an overly cheerful way, bending down to look at the much smaller person

"H-hi, I'm Emerald," Emerald said, still clutching her knife but lowering it. "I've never seen you before, what brings you here?"

"No idea! I was just wanderin around!" Nixie said cheerfully, crossing her arms. Oddly, it looked like she was missing a finger on each hand. "So what are you doin around her?

"I live here," Emerald stated. "Well, for the time being. I travel most of the time but every once in a while I'll settle down for a couple of months." Emerald then looked to Nixie's hands. And height. Confusion flooded into her mind and her expression as well. She had never seen anyone like this before.

"Oh thats neat!" Nixie said excitedly, clapping her hands together "does it get lonly being on your own?

“Just a bit,” Emerald said. “But I’ve gotten used to it. Besides, it’s much better than waking up to dust and dirt and the scent of old porridge that you know you’re gonna have to eat for breakfast.” She said. “I grew up in one of those crappy orphanages,” she added quickly.

She tilted her head to the side "whats an orphanage?

“It’s a place that takes in and raises children who don’t have any parents,” Emerald responded.

"Why dont they have parents? Did they eqt them?" She asked immidietly

“Some of them are abandoned or given up, but some of them, like me, has parents that died...”

"Oh. Ok then" she said, deciding not to ask

“Have You eaten anything yet?” Emerald asked. “I was just about to hunt for my breakfast.”
