"Here, let's dance," Julian said, taking her hand.

El grabbed onto Julian’s warm hands as they flooded into the dance floor. She was slightly nervous; even though her feelings weren’t directed towards Julian, this was her first time slow dancing with a boy. She had never felt that she could do it right. She placed her left hand on his shoulder and her right slipped into the embrace of his left hand.
(I think that’s how out works? Idk, there’s multiple different ways to slow dance. What were you thinking?) -

They glided across the floor mindlessly talking as they did so. After a few minutes the song ended. Other people went in to give their partner a kiss. So as to not seem out of place, Julian gave El a kiss on the forehead. -
A slight tingling sensation danced along El’s scalp as Julian placed his lips softly on her forehead. Wait, what was that? She thought, referring to the sudden sensation.

Julian smiled softly and led El back to their table.

El sat down next to Julian and smiled. This was nice. “So what do you we do now? Do we just talk, or what?” She asked.

"I don't know, there's not much going on," Julian said. "We could go if you want, or stay."

“Do you want to go get something to eat maybe?” El asked. “I didn’t get the chance to eat dinner.”

"Sure, let's do that." Julian said. "There should be some here."

El nodded and got up to walk over to the refreshments table. She placed some cheese, crackers, and grapes on her plate to start out with.

Julian followed her to the food table and grabbed some as well.

El sat down again and began to politely munch on her food, careful not to mess up her makeup. Then she looked around. "Hey, is Andrew here?" She asked Julian.

"He didn't have a date," Julian said. "So he might not be."

"Oh ok," El said with a slightly disappointed expression. But she shrugged it off and continued to eat her food. She then looked around at all the people with their dates. They were all so precious. She wished that she could be like that with Andrew.
