Cade froze up inside at Natalia’s comment but played it off smoothly. “Ok.” He said -
Natalia could tell something was wrong, but she didn't press.

Cade went to his room after this to eat his lunch of leftover Bento that he and Natalia had eaten for lunch the day before. His mind was still stuck on the mission that he and Natalia were assigned to.

Natalia walked into Cade's room. "Hey," she said. "Have you read all the details?"

"Yeah, I have," Cade replied with a small nod. He smiled. "How have you been? I know I haven't asked you that in a while."

(Le bump)

"Eh, so-so," Natalia said sitting next to him.

"Same here," Cade responded, keeping his emerald green eyes fixed on Natalia.

Natalia looked at him with her sea-blue eyes. "Do you think you'll be ready?" she asked. -
“I don’t know,” Cade began. “I think so.”

"You can refuse the job if you want," Natalia said. "No shame."

Cade shook his head. “No, I’ll do it,” she said.
