"What, are they so against you having a tutor?" Ethan said.

"It's not about a tutor. It's a boy tutor they're against." Crystal said.

"That's odd," he said.

"Boys can do things to girls that isn't nice for children like us," Crystal said bluntly.

"That doesn't mean they will," Ethan countered.

"Parents think they will. I don't." Crystal said with a shrug.

"Just go home already," Ethan said.

Crystal nodded and left the room.
She then bit her lip.
Didn't she promise the little girl that she would play with her? -
"Don't want your parents getting suspicious, now do we?" Ethan said.

"Shush, I said I would play with your sister and I plan to keep my word.” Crystal said.

"Alright, your loss," he said.

"More like my death." Crystal said with a laugh.

Ethan's mom came up the stairs. "Ethan, who's this?" she asked with a glint in her eye.
"I'm just tutoring her," he said.
"Would you like to stay for supper?" his mom asked. -
"That sounds lovely." Crystal said, smiling at Ethan's mom.

She nodded. "I'll get started on it," she said. "Oh, and just call me Joan."
