"Can I not say hi?" Reyna asked, irritated. "And when are we leaving?"
She hugged Nickola. -
"As I said before, we are leaving tomorrow morning," Nickola said. He kissed her hand. "Mio amore, I have been wondering about something, and yet it puzzles me."
-
"What have you been wondering about?" Reyna asked, then quickly added, "My love." She smiled at him serenely.
-
"You have changed drastically over the past few hours, I have just noticed.
-
Reyna shrugged. "Love is very unpredictable, as I believe you have noticed as well."
-
"Yes, but absolute loathing and hate to love?" Nickola said. His eyes were dark and dangerous. "I have to find it hard to believe."
-
"It wasn’t loathing. You were just... ah, how do I describe this?" Reyna mused. "And it’s okay if you don’t believe me, my love. I've noticed as well and find it hard to believe myself."
-
Nickola's eyes glanced up at her, then back down at his desk. He wasn't sure.
-
Reyna shrugged. "So, we leave tomorrow."
-
"Yes," Nickola said. "And it does not matter if he says yes, I will still have you for my wife. Now, please excuse me, I have an important phonecall to make."
-
"All right," Reyna said, and backed out of the room.
-
Nickola nodded and picked up the phone. "Stiamo spostando il luogo di consegna. Portalo nella mia villa in America, lo prenderò da lì," he said when the person on the other end picked up. After a moment of chatter on the other end he spoke again. "Ti ho detto che sarai pagato e io resterò fedele alla mia parola." And then he hung up.
-
Reyna assumed he was getting tickets for them or something.
Her worst nightmare had come true. -
(What if you had her start to try learning Italian (in secret) so that she can find out what he's saying)
After Nickola had hung up, he bent over his notebook on his desk. He had a bit of planning to do. -
(That sounds great... time to pull out my uno reverse card, aka Google Translate)
Reyna sat alone in what she assumed to be a storage room. Reyna managed to get out, and after wandering around the house she found some old Italian books. There were two words that were repeated a lot, and she assumed they meant the same thing. She had heard that there were feminine and masculine terms in Italian. La and il.
