"I think so," Carlos said, just remembering that stupid little lighter he carried everywhere. It was from his dad, who had disappeared out of nowhere. Finally, it had a purpose. He flicked it on and a small light appeared.

Ruby looked at the small light. "What if we light the truck on fire and escape?" she asked.

"But we could light the gas tank and blow ourselves up," Carlos said, his brows furrowing as he waved the lighter around, looking for something that could help them.

"I suggest you don't try to escape." A voice said. It was one of the guards.

Carlos flicked the lighter off, hiding it in his shoes. Maybe not the smartest idea, but he could imagine that his pockets might get searched. For once, fear glimmered in his eyes. He wanted to be brave, but he was scared at what might happened to him or Ruby.

“Carlos.” Ruby whispered. “I think this isn’t our parents teaching us responsibility.” She whispered as she continued looking for the exit.

"Ruby, whatever happens next, I..," Carlos drifted off. How could he say it? That in the past few years, he had started to think of her as more than a friend? It was pathetically humorous. Carlos, the guy who positively oozed with confidence, couldn't even express himself.

“Carlos? What is it?” Ruby asked. -
*le screech* HeHE))
Carlos shook his head, the warm feeling that had fluttered for a moment in his heart now slowly fading away. "Nothing. Let's just focus on getting out of here if we can." -
“If you have any idea’s, be free to share.” She grumbled as she continued looking for the hatch. “I don’t think there’s a hatch.” She said as she grimaced.

"I don't think so either," Carlos said with a sigh. "We might just have to wait and see what happens.

Should we do a time skip for when they get in the room?)
Ruby sat down and waited. She felt like it was her fault. She was the one who suggested going to the beach. Hopefully someone would find them. -

After a while, the truck rolled to a halt and light shone into the grimy place that Carlos and Ruby were in, dust dancing around them. "Get up," one of them growled, his voice low and grizzly. -
Ruby sat up immediately and followed the guard, holding on tight to Carlos’s arm.

Carlos had half a mind of lunging at the guards, but they were bigger and more powerful. He felt cool fingers wrap around his arm and jumped before noticing it was Ruby. She was probably scared to death, so he had to be brave for her.
