"Uh huh," Carlos said, clearly not believing her. He pulled the blindfold off and blinked to adjust to the lighting. "You're a rotten liar, Ruby."

Time skip to when they get inside?)
“Your not so innocent yourself.” She said with a smirk. -

"Ha! At least I don't go red every time I'm flustered," Carlos said with a teasing smile. -
Ruby lightly laughed. Her eyes widened in fright as they entered the large building. “What do you think they’re going to do to us?” She asked Carlos in a frantic whisper.

"I don't know," Carlos said, trying to push down his fear although it showed in his eyes. "But whatever happens, I am not letting you go, okay? You're going to make it out of this. I promise."

“What if we don’t? We could get killed!” She exclaimed. Ruby started shaking in fright.

"Just trust me, okay?" Carlos said, taking her trembling hands in his own and looking deeply into her eyes. "I'm going to get you out of this."

Ruby relaxed a little and looked Carlos in the eyes. “Thanks Carlos, I don’t know what I would do without you here.” She said.

Carlos tried to smile, but it didn't quite come out the way he wanted it to. "No problem."

They were led into a building and shut in a dark room. Ruby clung to Carlos for dear life and wouldn’t let go. -

Carlos blinked, trying to ward the darkness away as he held Ruby close. The silence was so thick you could cut it with a knife, torn by nothing but their ragged breaths and drumming heartbeats.
