"True that," Adrian said with a soft smile. He looked around, his smile turning into more of a frown. "Do you want me to stay?"

Jewel said, "That would be nice."

Adrian nodded. "I wish there was a less tormenting way of doing it," he said.

"Maybe there is and we haven't discovered it yet." she said.

"This is the only way that's given to us," Adrian said. "And Kendril is one of the very few humans that knows the language. And Tessa is one of the very few demons that's willing to say it."

"It's pretty brave of her to do it." said Jewel.

"Yeah," Adrian said. Then he realized something. "Oh shoot, do you need to go to the bathroom?"
