"I wish I could do something," Adrian whispered, knowing how it felt. "But there's nothing I nor anybody else can do."

"I know I just have to suck it up." Jewel said.

Adrian gave a small laugh. "If you can suck up torture like this it would be a miracle."

Jewel let out a small whimper as she felt more flames.

Adrian ran his hand softly across her cheek. "I'm here," he said. "I'll always be here."

"I know but it doesn't stop the pain." she said.

Adrian paused for a moment. He took off Jewel's cuffs and removed the strap. He took her out of the chair and down onto the ground where he was. He put her on his lap and wrapped.his comforting arms around Jewel, holding her.

"A-Adrian! What did you do?!" she exclaimed. -
"Hush," Adrian said softly. His arms were soft but firm as he held her close to him.

Jewel huddled close to him. "But wouldn't this break the ritual process?"

"Nothing in the ritual.says you have to be strapped to a chair," Adrian whispered gently.

"That means I don't have to sit in the chair?" she asked hopefully.

Adrian shook his head. "But you have to stay in the room."

"That's better than being stuck in a chair." she said.
