Crypta put a piece of toast in her mouth and experimented on the metal lump.
-
Harper finished his food. He walked over to where Crypts was. He had never said goodbye before and wasn't sure how to go about it. Instead he just watched her with the metal lump.
-
Crypta opened up a mini panel on it and typed a few things in, before holding it up. "Hang on...hold still."
-
Harper wasn't sure if she was talking to him or the lump so he stayed still.
-
The metal object scanned Harper and made a beeping noise.
"Alright, can you press your thumb right...there?" Crypta said. "It's almost done." -
Harper pressed his thumb where she pointed, confused, and wondering why he was being scanned.
-
"Done!" Crypta said, setting down the metal object. It sprang to life, unfolding until it became a full sized horse with a saddle to boot. It fixed its lamp like eyes on Harper.
-
Harper jumped back from the transforming metal. He didn't care if she had told him to stay still, that just didn't happen. And he had seen some strange things in his lifetime.
-
"This is your new horse," Crypta said. "Do you like him? Here horse, say "ah"!"
The horse opened his mouth wide, revealing rows of razor sharp teeth.
"They can be venomous if he wants," she said happily. "He has LOADS of defense mechanisms. Isn't he perfect?" -
Harper's eyes widened. He simply couldn't believe it. He shook his head. He couldn't take this. She had already done so much, more than she could imagine. She had saved him from a true terror, and he was immensely surprised she didn't find him suspicious from being chased by big men with big guns.
-
"Oh, if he tries to eat you just tell him to stop, okay?" Crypta said. "He hasn't been trained that much."
-
"I can't take this," Harper whispered. It was just too much.
-
"Why, is he too scary?" Crypta said. "I should have made him like a normal horse, huh?"
-
Harper shook his head. "It's not that," he said quietly." In fact. the scariness might even help him. But if anything traced back to her in anyway, they'd both be in trouble.
-
"Oh, then what is it?" Crypta said. The horse pressed his head into Crypta's hand, scanning her.
