Harper finished the pie. He had to say he was full. Except for the fact that he didn't say anything.
-
"That was fast," Crypta said. "Well, you must be tired. I'll show you where you can sleep."
-
Harper stood up out of the chair and followed Crypta.
-
Crypta directed him to a small room with a cushy bed. "I know it's not much, but here you are."
-
Harper slowly walked into the room. He sat down on the bed. It was much different than the thin mattresses and rough blankets he was used too.
-
The robotic dog trotted into the room, watching Harper. Crypta pointed at a door nearby. "That would be the bathroom, we've got running water if you want to freshen up. Just tell me if you need anything!"
She walked away, the robotic dog still following her. -
Harper was curious about the robot dog, but didn't think much about it. He laid on the bed and soon fell asleep.
-
Crypta pulled herself onto a hammock, which rhythmically rocked back and forth. Her dog was on top of her, in sleep mode.
-
Harper's night was plagued by nightmares. He was used to it being that way, they had made it that way.
-
The sun was feeble that morning and fall was on the way. Crypta closed the windows and got a fire going, which cast a warm glow over her.
-
Harper woke up that morning, but didn't want to get up. He was strangely comfortable. He didn't remember any changes to the bedding though. Then he remembered where he was. He had escaped. Just that thought brought him out of bed. But they'd still be looking for him. He had to leave today.
-
Crypta began frying up some toast. She enjoyed being able to set the table for two. Having company was...nice. She loved her robots, of course, but they couldn't replace an actual human being.
-
(fried toast??)
Harper smelled breakfast which smelled something like toast. He could at least have breakfast first before he left. -
Ye, you can fry bread to make toast))
Crypta served up the toast onto the plates and hurriedly went over to a strange metal lump by her working table. -
(huh)
Harper ate the toast. It was really good. It wasn't like normal toast, though. He didn't know what it was about it, but it was different.
