"Okay," Crypta murmured, closing her eyes. Robo drove for a bit and then pulled over, hopping out.

Harper had drifted asleep until Robo pulled over. "Where are we?" he asked the dog, waking up.

Robo scanned the area and a robotic voice read out, "Unidentified forest near Lake Kanawa."

"Is that the lake that you showed before?" Harper asked.

Robo shook his head. "Negative."

"Okay," Harper said. He looked at Crypta. She looked like she needed the sleep. "Are we staying here or going into the forest?"

"Your decision," Robo said mechanically, before letting out a puppy whine and leaning on his arm.

Harper thought for a moment. They had seen the car they were in, the license plate number, everything. They'd have to get moving. "We'll go into the forest," he informed the dog. He got out of the car and opened Crypta's door, seeing if she'd awaken to the inside car lights coming on and the sound of doors opening. If she wouldn't, he'd carry her.

Robo blinked up at Harper, wagging his tail and waiting for his next action. Crypta was still asleep, breathing softly.

Harper slid his arms under Crypta and lifted her out of the car, closing the door with his foot. He turned towards the trees and started walking.

Robo trotted at Harper's heels, scanning the area around them and chasing off any threatening squirrels, mice, or leaves.

"Look for a place we can stay," Harper told Robo. He couldn't see nearly as well as the dog could in the dark. -
Yes indeed lol))
Robo spat out a villainous stick and pelted off into the darkness, looking around. He returned a few minutes later, panting happily. -
"This isn't a time to be playing fetch with yourself," Harper said.

Robo barked at Harper, tilting his head backwards and then running ahead of him, pausing from time to time to see if he was following.
