Griffin was resting again. He was still watching the same superior. He didn't know why but he could almost swear that he could hear the ground collapsing in on them.

Kendril heard something, but he didn't know what it was. He dug the golden case out of the ground. When he had it in his arms, he knew it was what the Hatchet was in, he asked, "What is that?"

Penelope took a shower after training, and decided to go for a walk.

Griffin looked at the case of the hatchet. After looking at it for a few minutes blurred figures started to dance around his memories.

Kendril quickly grabed a rope that was down there, and tossed one end of it out of the hole. He didn't know what that noise was, though it rang a bell. But he didn't want to wait to find out. He tied the rope around the case in a secure knot, then yelled out of the hole, "The Hatchet's been found! Pull up the rope!" Once the Hatchet started moving upwards, he said, "Come on, everybody, let's climb out." he used the hand and footholes he had made earlier, and kicked them in deeper so that it was easier of the others to come out. He climbed out of the hole.

Penelope felt as if something were terribly wrong. She shook off the feeling and continued on.

Griffin started climbing getting the occasional kick in the face from the other soldiers, but he was used to it by now.

Kendril got out of the hole. It was nighttime. "We'll stay here for the night, then leave at dawn," he said.

Griffin was the last one out due to the feet in the face making it very hard to climb.

Once the last man was out of the hole. Kendril started setting up camp. You never knew what would happen with holes.

Penelope decided to test her luck and went to bed, hoping for rest.
