Soon as all the people in front of Griffin stopped he stopped too. Griffin saw glowing up ahead. He felt lightheaded suddenly and grabbed the bridge of his nose. He wanted to know what the glowing thing was even more than he wanted his headache to stop, so he trudged onwards.

Penelope leaned against the window. Something seemed off. The creatures seemed much quieter than usual; they were in a hushed silence. She strained her eyes to see as far as she could. Nothing. But she knew that wasn't true.

Soon, the sun burst up, like a golden thumb, cutting through the fog of the morning. Now they could see how far they had actually dug so far. only about 10 feet. Kendril wiped the sweat from his forehead as he saw the sunrise. He had just started a small break, and after a few minutes he'd be back to work.
-
Griffin started to notice how big the hole they were digging was. He wondered how they would all get out of the hole. He saw one of the commanders taking a break. Griffin wondered how he had gotten here. Griffin wondered about all of these soldiers.
-
Penelope had managed to get a few hours of sleep and woke up, preparing for training. She tied her hair back and stared at her reflection in the cracked mirror on her wall. She turned away from it and headed down for training.
-
Soon, those minutes were up. With a weary sigh, Kendril stood up and walked over to the hole. He had left his shovel down there so that he didn't have to do as much work, climbing up and down the side of the hole with a shovel in his hand. He looked for the spot where he had climbed out the first time. He had kicked the side of the hole to make hand and footholds. So he used those now to get back to the bottom. He picked his shovel back up and started digging.

Griffin watched one of the Superiors climb. He wished he was trusted enough to be one of the people who touched the hatchet. The hatchet was rumored to bring back memories, But this was information given by crazy old Anne.
-
Penelope knocked out her opponent with a swift roundhouse kick. Her instructor gave her the briefest of smiles, and she glowed with pride, working harder than ever.
-
Kendril kept on digging. They were going until afternoon, with people taking breaks every once in awhile, and then his shovel hit a golden case.
