Phen followed Ardis inside, looking around curiously

Miriam slammed a large pot of stew down on a wooden table, along with some bread and meat, and several wooly headed children rushed into the kitchen, clambering into the chairs. One of them spotted Phen and walked up to him, clapping with delight.
"Birdie!" the little girl cried. A boy looked at the little girl in a disdainful manner.
"That's not a bird, that's a dragon!" he retorted. -
Phen tilted his head at the children, crouching down to look closer as his tail curled around his feet "im actually a Wyvrix, but dragon is close enough i guess" he said, amused before looking at Miriam "are those your hatchlings?

"All five of them," Miriam said proudly. By now, all of the children noticed Phen's presence and completely abandoned the meal before them.
"Lookit, he's got wings!" one of them crowed, brushing a clumsy hand over one of them. "One of them has an ouchie." -
Phen tucked his broken wing close to his side when one of the children pointed it out, seeming a little defensive about it as he curled his other wing around himself to hide it

"You need a bandaid," the child said firmly.

Phen just blinked at the child, clearly confused as he tilted his head

Miriam chuckled. "Come and eat your lunch, you little rascals."
The children flocked back to the table, and Ardis laughed. -
Phen stood back up and watched the kids, smiling

Miriam turned to Phen with an apologetic look on her face. "I'm mighty sorry, they're nosy litte buzzards. Would you two like anything to eat?"
Ardis nodded and said her thanks, eating with the children and telling them stories to make them laugh. -
Phen smiled gently "its perfectly fine, they are just curious after all" he said as he nodded at the question

Miriam wasn't sure what a Wyvrix ate, so she laid out a bit of everything on the table.

Phens nose twitched and he tilted his head curiously

"What do your kind eat?" Miriam said, handing him a plate.

"Mostly meat" he said as he looked at the plate
