"But why are you-"
The old man raised a hand to signal silence. "Even I take pleasure in fine things. I take the weary travelers of life and ease their passage into the eternal futures," he said. -
Phen frowned in thought

"Are you such weary travelers?" Death inquired. Ardis shook her head.
"We've come to bargain," she said, holding out the large coin. Death's eyes glimmered, and he took it from her to examine.
"Is it genuine?" he said in a hushed whisper. -
"Yep" Phen said

"This is very valuable," Death said. Ardis nodded.
"And it's all yours if you can bring the ambassador's daughter back to life," she said. -
Phen looked uneast

Death pursed his lips. "This is a very dangerous game you're playing."
"Please, more will die if this war continues," Ardis pleaded.
Death sighed reluctantly. "Fine. But don't say I didn't warn you." -
"Oh trust me we know" Phen grumbled

Death was gone in the blink of an eye, and in his place was a small brown haired girl. Ardis bent down and gently lifted the feeble form into her arms, and began to walk back.

Phen trailed after her

"This is too easy," she said. "It can't be that we just-"
She was interrupted by a large falling stalagmite, which nearly crushed her. It was followed by many others, circling around them and penning them in. -
Phen hissed and wrapped his tail around her

Ardis unsheathed her sword, still carrying the child. The ground in front of them bubbled and revealed a thick layer of magma, from which rose a boulder like creature.

Phen bared his teeth and hissed at it
-
It growled, swishing its tail which dripped hot lava. The creature suddenly roared and flung a ball of magma at them. Ardis yelped and pushed Phen to the side, getting a bit singed in the process.
