"Stop feeding it," Atalith said. "It's like a stray. If you feed it, it'll just keep on coming back to you for its food and whatever else it needs. Stop feeding it, and it'll go away."

Ali shrugged, and patted the thing's head. "He probably hasn't had company in ages."

"that's sad." Elaine said.

"Yeah," Alia said. "Maybe I'll come get him one day."
She rolled away from the edge and fell asleep. -
“I wonder if there’s more of them. I bet mine would be purple.” Skye said in a matter-of-factly way.

"so you want a shracpole?" Elaine said.

“Dunno what that is.” Skye said, putting her hands behind her head and leaning back on the rock.

"that's what I'm calling the creature." Elaine said.

Alia snuffled softly and curled up into a ball.

Skye suddenly shot up with realization, “Wait! We should be continuing on. What if there’s something important ahead?” She said, getting the strange sensation that there was, indeed, something ahead.

Alia jumped awake when Skye shot up. "Can't I sleep for even half an hour?"

“No! I heard something. It was the sound we heard before, we need to find it!” Skye said impatiently.

Alia made a low growling noise but got up. "Alright, alright, I'm up. Let's go."

“Thank you.” Skye said, standing up and dusting herself off.
