Thunderbolt returned with the prey and set it down. There wasn't enough for everyone, but-
"Oh, I already caught two mice. Don't worry about it," Drift said, as if reading his mind. He took his rabbit and Minnowleap took her fish, and they both curled up next to each other and ate their prey.
Drift looked at them with an almost envious expression. They just seemed so happy, and united. Together, even. It made her feel like she was missing out on something, so she took a piece of prey and curled up in a corner by herself. -
Adder dropped the wren and took the rabbit and trotted over to Drift who was siting alone. “Mind if i join?” She asked the striped she-cat.

Comet watched the cats, no one had responded to him about clan-life. He repeated his question, “What are the clans like?”
Honeymoor’s ears perked up, “Well, it’s very nice. Everyone hunts for each other and the medicine cats will do their best to take care of you when you’re sick or injured. We’re all united together.” She said, smiling at the thought of the clans.
Raytail shifted with unease, he wondered what would happen if he decided to stay here. -
Drift looked up in surprise, but was pleased. "Of course," she said, smiling. She shifted to make room for Adder, happy to have company.
"There's a nursery, where all the queens raise their kits," Minnowleap added. "All the warriors sleep together, and the apprentices sleep together too."
"And the leader makes sure everything runs smoothly," Thunderbolt interjected. "It's a great place." -
Adder sat down next to Dift and happily ate her rabbit, listening to the clan cats talk about their life. She looked up and saw that Raytail had a strange expression on his face.

Comet opened his mouth to talk before quickly snapping it shut. He gave a nod of thanks to the cats and padded a couple of fox-lengths away from the others.
Honeymoor frowned, Comet seemed distant. Finally, she decided to check on what he was doing. -

Raytail sighed and looked upwards, he wasn’t used to making decisions by himself. Part of him liked this way of life, the other part didn’t want to leave his friends. He took a swift look at Adder before looking back up at the sky. -
Adder saw out of the corner of her eye, Raytail looking at her. She didn’t think about any of it and just continued eating her rabbit.

Drift finished her piece of prey and settled into a comfortable position. She didn't want to imagine life without this group. She'd be alone...again.
Minnowleap and Thunderbolt chatted with each other, and the silvery tabby she-cat fiddled with the necklace she had put around her neck. -

Comet frowned as Honeymoor crept up on him as silent as a mouse. “Something’s bothering you.” She said to him, resting her tail on her shoulder understandingly, “What is it?”
“I’ve never had anyone hunt me prey, or take care of me when I was injured. The clans seem so amazing, I wondering if I should...” He cut himself off. -
After Adder had finished eating she trotted over to Raytail and sat down next to him. “You alright?” She asked him, her head cocked to the side just a bit.

Raytail jumped a little, he had zoned off while questioning his loyalty to the clans. “No,” he admitted, “I’m not.”
Honeymoor frowned, “Well, after this is all over, there’s nothing stopping you from coming back with us.” She said gently, she knew the feeling. -
Drift went over to Comet and Honeymoor, feeling embarrassed at the question she was about to ask. "D'you think that if I went to the clans...I would be a good medicine cat?"
Minnowleap had fallen asleep, but Thunderbolt had heard Drift's question and was mildly startled. Drift, a fierce fighter, wanted to be a medicine cat? -
Adder shifted closer so that their fur tips were touching. “You wanna talk about it?” She asked him.
