Adder nodded her head. “Yah, for a little while, until......” she couldn’t get herself to say until her parents abandoned her and Lion.

Thunderbolt knew what that meant. Something must have happened. "I'm sorry," he said quickly. "I shouldn't have asked.

deer shook her head. “No, it’s fine.” She smiled as she looked over at him.

Thunderbolt looked at Minnowleap, who had stuck her face in the water. He laughed. "Minnowleap, what are you doing?"
Minnowleap lifted her head up, which was sopping wet. "I see something down there!" -
Adder trotted over to the river bank. “What is it?” She asked as she tilted her head.

"I'm not sure, but it's...shiny," Minnowleap said, before bodily diving into the icy pond. Thunderbolt let out a yelp of surprise.
"Minnowleap!" he said, rushing over to the hole she had gone through. -
Adder didn’t like that she got splashed by the water. She hissed under her breath before she ran up next to Thunderbolt. “Does she always do this?” She asked him.

"When around warm water, yes," he said, shaking himself out. "But not in such a frigid place. This must be something really important for her to go after it."
Minnowleap crawled out of the pond, shivering but elated. "I've got it!" she said, holding a necklace in her jaws. "I've got the key to the waterfall!" -
Adder tilted her head. Minnowleap had splashed her again and she was now shaking from the cold. “I-i hate w-water.” She mumbled, fluffing her fur out. “H-how do y-you s-swim in i-it?” She asked Minnowleap.

"I came from Waterclan," she explained. "It's less scary to me." She set the necklace down and began to groom the water out of Adder's fur apologetically.
"Let's get back to the cave," Thunderbolt decided, carrying the prey. -
Adder fluffed her fur more before nodding and started heading back. She stuck close to Thunderbolt, feeling the warmth he gave off. “I’ve never been very fond of water, mainly because I’ve nearly drowned once.” Adder said, casting a look over at Minnowleap.

"Sorry about that," Minnowleap said, shaking herself off. "But I know this thing is important."
Thunderbolt chuckled. "You really are one in a million, huh?"
Instead of getting offended, Minnowleap purposely made a ridiculous face. "Why yes, of course," she said. -
Adder chuckled at their silly behavior. “You guys really are weird.” She giggled as they continued on back to their camp.

Raytail lay down next to Honeymoor, she was in bad shape, the she-cat clearly wasn’t used to climbing steep slopes.
Comet watched the two, wishing he could be that close to another cat, he was a loner, which meant he didn’t have many cats to talk to, “What are the clans like?” -
When they reached their camp, Adder’s fur had dried and she trotted up to the others, her prey clasped tightly in her mouth. “Hi guys.” She said through a mouthful of prey.
