Lavinia had just shifted into a snow leopard once she got past the first line of trees when she heard it. The magic alarm. Her ears went back as she listened to see if the guard was after her. She didn't hear anything, but she leaped into a tree to wait just in case.

Jenna eventually got to the city wall. Not the gate. They'd double or triple the amount of guards there. She shifted into a raccoon, and climbed to the top of the wall. She climbed down the other side, and turned back into a human. She ran into the forest to escape. She heard loud, rough men running in the distance behind her and the bells still ringing away.

Lavinia growled when she heard the sound of running feet. She sat up to see what was approaching. She saw a girl about her age running towards the woods with the Guard in pursuit. so not me they are after she thought. After counting how many there were chasing her, she prepared to fight.

Jenna leaped over a fallen tree and kept on running. She suddenly had the choice between two paths. She had been running off the paths, but she suddenly encountered them at this fork in the road. She decided to go in between the two paths. Eventually she realized her mistake, as she came face to face with a wall of stone. She was trapped. The cliff was too long to go around, and the Hunters were on the other side of her. She turned around, ready to fight.

Lavinia silently chased after the girl, hiding in the bushes near her. She knew the girl would be trapped, and wanted to see how she'd fight and what magic she has. The guards were close enough now the human girl could probably hear them.

She had just enough time to unsheathe her sword and get her dagger out of her bag before the Hunters were attacking her. She fought them off best she could. She struck down another Hunter, when she saw the Head Hunter. The rest of the lowlier Hunters stood back as this giant came towards her. She thought quickly. She couldn't take him on, there was no way she'd survive. She hoped they didn't have archers. She jumped to get airborne, and Shifted into a sparrow. She flew to the top of the cliff and kept on flying, but it turned out the did have archers, because not very far from the edge of the cliff, she got shot. She Shifted back into a human, and tumbled to the ground. She struggled up, and broke the shaft of the arrow that had pierced her shoulder.

Lavinia snarled when the girl fell out of the sky and attacked the Hunters. She used her claws to rip out the intestines of one, while biting the other on the throat. As she did this, she called on her water power. It began to pour, blocking the archers and hiding the girls scent. She killed two more hunters before the leader approached her. She bared her blood covered teeth and crouched down preparing to pounce.

Jenna peered over the edge of the cliff and saw that there was a leopard attacking the Hunters. That couldn't have been a normal animal. It had to be someone like her. Someone with magic. She stood up all the way. She wanted to help, but her wound was deep, she was loosing a lot of blood, and was starting to get dizzy. She layed on the ground so that she might feel better. And the only way she's be able to get back down was if she Shifted, which she couldn't do. If she did she would, she would probably die. No, she needed to save her strength.

Lavinia heard the girl try to get up, only to go back down. She made the river nearby turn into a tidal wave that washed all the hunters away, then ran to the girl. Lavinia could tell the wound was bad, so she shifted into the form of a muscular male, picked her up, and carried her into town to a doctor who owed her a favor because she knew he had magic. The doc healed as quick as he could while Lavinia guarded the door.

Jenna was barely conscious the entire time. Soon, she fell asleep. Later, she woke up, in a sort of bedroom. She sat up, and for a moment, expected to feel unbearable pain, but didn't. There was nothing. She sat up, and looked at her shoulder, and saw that she was healed. She looked around the room. There were two people in the room with her. "Where am I?" she asked quietly. Her voice wouldn't let her be louder. -
(Oh, okii! I'm staying female, but you got to admit being able to turn into a muscular guy would be AWESOME. like imagine walking down the street at night and some sleazeball comes up and tries to rob you at knife point so you just turn into a 6 foot 7 inch tall guy made of muscle and just stare them down.)

Lavinia turned to the girl when she sat up."You are safe for now, but we need to get moving. Being in the city as long as we have already has been risky." she answered. -
"In the city?!" Jenna repeated. "Where they're hunting me down to kill me. How did you ever consider that that was a good idea?"

Lavinia rolled her eyes. "Really? I hadn't noticed. In case you forgot, they want me to.But how about this, next time I'll just let you bleed out instead of taking you to a doctor who'd never report you because hey, he has magic too."

"Except you don't have everyone in the city trying to find you, at the moment," Jenna mumbled, "They're too focused on me and how I could've possibly been here."
"Thanks anyway," she said a little louder.
