"We have magic also," Jenna said. "I can Shift into pretty much anything, and can read minds. She can also Shift, and has water powers." Then she realized she had never given him her name. "I'm Jenna," she said, "And that's Lavinia."

"I feel lie shib," Lavinia mumbled. Rhydian frowned guiltily. "Sorry about that..I shot you because I thought you were an actual wolf." Lavinia fell asleep. "She is probably weak from blood loss," Rhydians father said. "WOuld you like to stay with us while she heals? She won't be able to use that arm for a while yet and you'll both be safe with us."

(*shakes finger* Language, Rayne.)
"She saved my life," Jenna said. "The least I can do is help her. I'll come with you." -
(*Smiles innocently* Whatever do you mean?)
Rhydian nodded and gently picked up Lavinia. "Follow us. You can shift if you'd like, or stay human. Hey, is this blue in her hair natural?" -
(You know what I mean.)
"I think so," Jenna said, standing up. "That's why she can't go by cities, because it marks her as one with magic." -
(To be fair, Lavinia didn't say it, not exactly.)
"That makes sense. I've heard rumors that those with a powerful gift will show. But I've never heard of it in this kingdom. I suppose that is because your king kills magic wielders," Rhydians father said. -
Jenna nodded. She hadn't heard that, but now that she thought about it, the power didn't show in her hair. It was her eyes. They'd turn gold a lot, but she'd try to stop it from happening so that she'd fit in. Now she didn't have to stop it. She closed her eyes and felt her eye color change. "He does," she said. "It's awful."

"Where were you two going anyway? The reason we live all the way out here is that no one comes here. Nice eyes by the way. That is how power shows most. You know, most can't change into more than one animal, much less have more than one power like you do," Rhydian's father said.

"Thanks," Jenna self-consciously mumbled. "We were going into the mountains. Lavinia told me of a place there where we could use our magic freely without anyone trying to kill us."

Rhydian looked at Jenna shocked, then quickly looked away. Should I tell them? He wondered. He decided to wait.
"I wish you luck on your journey then," Rhydians father said. -
Jenna nodded politely. She wondered what the look on Rhydian's face was for, but she decided to ignore it.
