"Yes, but not much," he said, jogging to catch back up with her.

"Ugh," Gaynor moaned/grunted.
(I was thinking about Peter Pan as I typed that.) -
James got the jest of her "ugh" and did not ask her what it meant.

So we'd better start traveling faster," Gaynor said. "We moved back a ton while we were asleep, and we need to keep on moving forward. How come every place is normal except for this forest?"

"Because this place is modified," he said. "Unnatural. It is meant to keep others out."

"And how did they figure you were going to get back?"

"The reason that the forest is not impossible to survive in is because of that reason."

Gaynor thought through that sentence. After a second she realized that he meant that they knew he could easily survive the conditions. "Ok." she said.

Suddenly, a large rippling purple forcefield appeared in front of them.
"We have arrived at the mental aspect of the forest."
(I just realized that this would actually make a pretty epic book) -
(It would, wouldn't it?)
"The mental aspect?" Gaynor said. She decided to try mind over matter and tried to walk through the purple blocker. She bumped right into it. "Seems pretty physical to me," she said, rubbing her nose. -
(I want to write it now. You could be a co-writer! What would we call it? The Facility?)
He looked at her with a serious expression on her face. "You will have to face your worst memories and fears, and you will have to answer riddles as well."
He placed his palm on the forcefield and a long purple snake like creature slithered out.
"What is when spoken, broken?" she hissed menacingly at Gaynor. -
(I'd add a bunch more to it. And The Facility is the name of one of your rps that you're in and doesn't apply too much to this story.)
"That's easy!" Gaynor said. "The answer is silence. Would you mind if I asked you one now?" -
(The Facility, where the council members are? And yeah, the story could use a little fattening up.)
The snake hissed and disappeared, leaving the rippling portal open.
"As we are together, we will go through each other's fears. Just stick close to me and follow my lead," James said, stepping into the portal. -
(but the main theme of the story is for Gaynor to get revenge.)
"It didn't want to hear my riddle!" Gaynor said. "Actually, I have three that are rather good ones. I like riddles." -

"Aislet is not meant to receive riddles. She is meant to give them," he said. "Now we must go into this portal."
