"Quiet!" he hissed. There was a loud and heavy thumping, which was followed but a loud shriek. Other shrieks from varying distances sounded through the still air.
"They know we are here, Gaynor! You must run, quickly!" he said, pulling out a large sword. -
"You know I'm as capable as any," Gaynor said. She threw her sandwich where the shrieks were coming from, and ran in a different direction.

02084 jumped to his feet and swung his sword rhythmically. The large rats watched it, their heads swivelling to follow it with their gaze.

Gaynor looked behind her, seeing if he needed any help. Suddenly she was attacked from the side. She fell to the ground. One of the rodents of unusual size (I had to quote it sometime) was on her. She got her sword between her and its teeth, and chopped off its head. She stood up, and realized she was bleeding. Her upper arm had been scratched so deeply that she was bleeding. She looked behind her again, this time, paying more attention to her surroundings.

02084 sharply jerked the sword down and the rats ducked their heads down. He hoped Gaynor had gotten away. He took a dagger out of one of his pockets and, jerking his sword up quickly, threw it at the chest of the lead rat.

Gaynor looked behind her in time to see 02084 throw his dagger. She turned around and kept on running, striking down as best she could any rodents that got in her way.

It sunk into the heart of the lead rat, which let out a powerful shriek before falling to the ground. The other rats fixed their beady eyes on him, baring their teeth.

(You're in trouble now!)
Gaynor stopped running when she believed herself clear of the rodents of unusual size. She looked at her wound. It was deep, and bleeding fast. -
02084 quickly pulled out a colorful banner from his jacket and waved it over his head, making a sharp hissing noise. The rats looked at him with unease before tentatively turning away.

Gaynor shrugged the pain off. It actually didn't hurt that badly.

Once the rats were gone, 02084 turned around. "Gaynor!" he called out. "Can you hear me?"

Gaynor looked up as she heard 02084 call her name. "Yeah!" she yelled, walking towards the voice. "You ok?!"
(I'm half expecting fire to pop out of the ground.) -

02084 laughed with relief. "Yes, I am in an orderly state. How do you fare?" -
"I'm bleeding!" Gaynor yelled. She soon came across the body of the decapitated rodent of unusual size. 02084 was now in sight, walking towards her.
