"Nice!" Gaynor said, rubbing the metal dog. Her mood was improving.

"They should be useful in our mission," he said, standing up. 84 padded merrily at his heels. "84 was my old companion."

"And K-9 is now my new." Gaynor said. "How long until we reach there?"

02084 knelt down by 84. "He says we should set up camp. If we continue, we are likely to be lashed by venomous addervines."

"See, there's another thing you should've told me about." Gaynor said. "What exactly are addervines? Man eating plants?"

"Similar to snakes. They will eat whatever flesh they can find. They're worse at night, they get thrown into a sort of crazed frenzy then. New addition," he said, having listened to 84 again.

"So are there any other life-threatening creatures or beings, or automatons, or anything else that might kill me before we get there?"

"Ask K-9 or 84 of that," he said, beginning to set up sticks in a triangular fashion.

"Do they speak English, or do I have to speak Android?" Gaynor asked.

"That all depends. Why don't you ask K-9 of that?"

Gaynor looked at the metallic dog. "Alright, K-9, can you speak English?"

The dog cocked his head. "Which variant of English, master?"
"Modern English," 02084 interrupted. -
"Hey," Gaynor said, "I could go for some Old English, but whatever." She turned her attention back to K-9. "What are all the life-threatening, or life-taking things in this forest?" she asked it.

"They're guards," K-9 said simply. "They protect the hidden entrance without being too obvious. Most were manufactured in the lab."

"Is that it?" Gaynor asked.
