Annabelle said "Probably for burial or for something" she was interrupted by the floor giving way under both of them and falling onto a giant slide. As she fell and slide, she said "Eeeelllllsssse"
-
Hunter slid down most ungracefully. He tumbled over a few times and flailed as he tried to slow the fall. He hoped they didn't land in anything life-threatening.
-
Soon the slide ended at the bottom of a large chamber. Annabelle landed on a hard floor but continued to slide until she hit a wall. She made sure to brace herself for when Hunter came by.
-
Hunter crashed into Annabelle almost comically. He landed on top of her, looking very embarassed. "Ah, sorry-!" He said, pushing himself off of her and sitting up to gather his bearings. Some arrows were also on the ground, they'd fallen out of his quiver.
-
Annabelle stood up and said "It's fine. Just be glad your not someone else." She then almost fell again but her trident held her up. She looked at the ground and noticed the floor. It was blue and slippery like ice, but it wasn't ice. Whatever it was, she couldn't stand on it or she would continue slipping.
-
Hunter gathered whatever arrows he could salvage. Geez, he really was running low on arrows. It was difficult to maneuver around on the slippery floor, and eventually he grunted in frustration. "What is this stuff? Magic? It's not cold, so it can't be ice," Hunter said.
-
Annabelle said "I don't know. What I do know is I can't balance or move on it." The room then lit up and showed a button on the opposite side of the room but there appeared to be traps guarding it.
-
"...That button is just screaming to be pushed," Hunter said after light appeared. "The traps are probably a good sign, right? They're like, 'this is the button you're supposed to push in order to move forward' kind of traps," Hunter said. "Maybe I can shoot an arrow from here and push it, whatdya think?" He asks Annabelle.
-
"Youuuuuu're alre-re-ready low on aaaaaaarrows. You don't neeeeeed to waaaaaste them. Also, I thiiiiiiiink the bu-bu-bu-button is toooooooo large to push with an arrow." Annabelle answered, while trying to keep balance.
-
Hunter offered a hand to keep Annabelle steady, though it was in vain since he himself couldn't quite stand right either. "Maybe we could set off the traps, then. Throw some items to make them go off and then we can go push it once since the traps no longer work."
-
Annabelle held Hunter's hand but she then slipped closer and held onto him like she was hugging him. Of course, that wasn't the case for her and she said "That might work."
-
Hunter looked through his little pack and took out some rations. He would probably be fine since he could eat after they got out of this castle. He threw the food and watched in slight amazement as the traps shredded it to peices and attacked it.
-
Eventually all the traps were activated and no longer useful. Annabelle said "Looks like it worked. Now we just need to press the button."
-
Hunter thought about the conversation they'd had earlier about not being so quick to put themselves in danger for each other. "Let's go together," He suggests to Annabelle.
-
Annabelle nodded her head and said "Okay. But we need to be careful. It appears neither of us can skate on this surface. Whatever it is." She kept a hold of Hunter to reinforce her point.
