Hunter instantaneously felt better. The pain of feeling his insides get eaten up stopped. His vision cleared up. Hunter, surprised, looked at his savior. "You saved my life. How can I repay this favor?" Hunter asks. He was a bit shaken, being on the doorstep of death and all.
-
The robed wizard said nothing and simply disappeared in the same way he appeared. Annabelle looked at Hunter and said "Are you okay?"
-
"Never been better!" Hunter says as he stands up and pats himself down. Never again would he take for granted the feeling of health. "I'm sorry for worrying you. I'll get more armor once we hit the next town, something like this won't happen again," Hunter promises. He couldn't bear the thought of being parted from Annabelle.
-
Annabelle hugged Hunter and said "Thank you."
After some time, The Forest of Illusion was hacked and burned to the ground. Once this was done, the castle was shown, right in the middle of the forest. Annabelle said "No wonder no one could find it. How would you find the middle of the forest and find a way out?" -
"Guess we're lucky the castle wasn't made of wood," Hunter comments once they'd finished up destroying the forest. He was getting low on arrows too, he made a mental note to pick up some more durable ones.
-
Annabelle said "Quite." She then said "Let's enter." and walked towards the castle with determination. The goblins and orcs followed her obediently.
A fairy warrior walked through the corridors of Queen Amari's castle. Bloodied and bruised, he walked with a painful limp as he tried to drag himself to the Queen. -
Hunter kept his bow out in case they ran into any dangers as he followed everyone into the castle. He knew well about adventurers who would go into old castles and run into cults, necromancers, and other dark things of that nature.
-
Once they reached the castle, Annabelle stopped and said "Everyone. Hunter and I must venture in here alone. There are simply too many of you to fit. Stay here and guard the castle until we return." Everyone nodded and spread out to set a perimeter. Annabelle said "Come on, Hunter. Let's go." and with that, she entered the castle.
-
Hunter nodded and followed Annabelle. This could almost be romantic. He bet other couples couldn't say their first date was in an old creepy abandoned castle. Hunter smiled to himself at the silly thought.
-
Annabelle walked through the door of the castle with Hunter and it closed behind them. It was then that several torches on the walls lit up as if to guide them. She then said "Be careful, there could be traps everywhere in this place."
-
"Poisonous arrow and now possible traps. I reckon this day couldn't get any worse," Hunter says, hoping he wasn't cursing himself by saying it out loud. "Normally I'd say ladies first but if there really are traps I think I'll take the lead," Hunter walks in front of Annabelle so that he would take the brunt of any danger.
-
Annabelle pulled Hunter back and said "Considering I almost lost you about one hour ago, I doubt I'd like to see you get hurt here." She walked to the front and said "I will lead the way." She then walked down the corridor and watched the walls to see if any openings were there.
-
"What and so that makes it okay for you to possibly get hurt? I know you have flashy powers, but they can only do so much," Hunter says with a worried frown. He cared just as much for Annabelle as she did for him, losing her would mean losing himself.
-
Annabelle sighed and said "You're right. We only have each other now. And my powers can't stop death. I say we make an agreement. Let's look out for each other. We'll both protect each other."
-
"Sounds good to me mon cheri," Hunter replied in agreement. He was still trying out nicknames, Hunter wouldn't stop until the perfect one was found. "I wonder what this old castle was used for," he commented curiously
