“ I’m fine.” Sin said as they were given back control
They panted heavily, “ for now.” -
"Damn," Arwyn said. "Now I'm all sad! Is it true what they say about mermaids, that once they die they turn to sea foam?" She asked. Arwyn supposed that would make for a difficult revival spell. Someone like Gineye, for example, probably couldn't bring back someone without a body.
"I'm okay," Finn said to Gineye, but a burst of green fire that suddenly appeared next to him said otherwise. He quickly stomped it out. -
Avalon sniffed and said "Lenore said they didn't. She said they usually were buried in the seafloor. It's usually the surviving family member that does the burying. They gave me her body and I buried her in a special place." Avalon simply couldn't take it anymore and started to cry.
-
Gineye stared at Finn for several seconds before he shrugged and started walking back to camp "coke on kiddos
-
Sin shook for a bit before following behind gineye
-
"Oh shi-" Arwyn said in surprise when tears began to flow down Avalon's face. She awkwardly put a hand on his back and pat him. "Let it all out, bud," She said. Arwyn wasn't the best at emotional support, she hoped that sorry excuse for a mage would hurry and come back. Finn was much better at lightening everyone's spirits.
Speak of the devil: Finn, Gineye, and Sin arrived back at the camp. Finn was alarmed at Avalon's tears, and he offered him a hug -
Avalon looked through his tears and saw Finn offering a hug. He gave him one while he was still crying. The hug did make him feel better and he at least stopped crying a little, but he was still sad.
-
Gineye blinked in confusion "whats going on?" he said after a moment, sounding a little worried
-
Sin yawned tiredly, despite their precious claim that they did not in fact need to sleep. The little punk.
-
"Oh, you missed the best part of the story," Arwyn explained to Gineye. "That mermaid wife Avalon had.. yeah, she died. Almost makes me feel sadness in my cold black heart," Arwyn said, holding her chest. It sounded cold and sarcastic, but she meant it.
Finn kept an arm around Avalon. He had already knowm about Avalon's wife from when they were in the tree earlier, Finn hoped that once they found the wizard that Avalon would get her back.
Arwyn clapped when Sin yawned. "That's a sign right there, guys, everyone needs to get some rest! Once we start our trek bright and early tomorrow, it's your own fault if you fall behind," Arwyn handed Gineye, Sin, and Finn a blanket. -
Avalon rubbed his eyes, broke the hug with Finn and said "Thank you." He went into his sleeping bag and decided to call it a night.
-
Gineyes eyes stopped glowing at her explanation but just nodded and sat down by the fire, crossing his arms over his knees and staring at the flames
-
Sin moved to sleep beside Gineye, and smiled at sin, before they actually knocked themselves the f--- out,

(YES, FINALLY PAST DAY 0-)
*Time skip to morning. Gineye and Arwyn stayed up all night. Gineye, because he doesn't need sleep. Arwyn, because insomnia*
Arwyn yawned. Sure, she was a hypocrite, and her eyebags had definitely sunken deeper, but it that didn't matter much to her.
"UP AND AT 'EM," Arwyn yelled. It was an hour or two after the sun had risen, she had decided earlier not to wake them all up at sunrise due to the fact that everyone had stayed up a little too late after the battle with the ogres and the three magicians' little disappearing act after dinner.
Finn rolled awake groggily. He wasn't much of a morning person. -
(It only took 20 pages but we did it.)
Avalon woke up and yawned. He said "Good morning, everyone." He stood up and began packing his sleeping bag. He then started shaking some of the others awake.
